No Display
Hi

Im new to the forums, Im just after a little help and advice if you guys can help me

Im getting the feeling its something serious!

The problem is I cannot get any display on my LCD. The video card is 8600GT and works fine in another PC. Ive also tried resetting CMOS but nothing. The fans all start and the HDD are active. The light on the motherboard comes on. But nothing on screen. Ive tried the RAM in another PC all fine.

This happened after dodgy pins on a connector to my graphics card, I swapped the connector and it worked fine, thought I fixed it but went to boot it up in the morning and nothing! Ive changed the CMOS battery and yeah you guessed it nothing lol

I also have no power to my DVD Drive and the lights on the front of the unit dont come on, well the HDD LED comes on but stays on, not flickering.

These are the specs....

Asus MZN4-SLI
350ATX PSU
AMD 4600
2GIG RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 8600GT

Im guessing the power supply or a faulty Motherboard but im open to other suggestions, in fact ill try almost anything at this point

Thanks in advanve for your help

RE: No Display
I would say it sounds like a faulty motherboard. However can you tell me if the HDD light flashes on and off, or if it stays solid all the time?

Also, does it beep on initial boot?

Also check for an onboard video card, if the seperate card has failed it may have switched to onboard?

The hdd light did come on at first, but now nothing. Its active though its spinning. I am not getting any beep at start up either. The GFX card is fine i tried that in another machine. Im running out of things to try Big Grin

RE: No Display
Sounds like it is board. If you get the same board/chipset you wont have to reinstall windows.
