RE: very slow start up
I would reset the bios to start off with.
If this doesn't work I'd have it looked at by a laptop repair specialist. Maybe replacing the CD drive. Regards, Free PC Advice Powered by our Partners: IT Support Manchester Selectweb Internet |

RE: very slow start up
Soon as you turn on, try tappping a couple of times the F1 or DEL key on the keyboard.
You will see this on your display, or similar to: http://www.blendsblog.com/wp-content/upl...http://www.blendsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/0 Navigate using the keyboard arrow keys to the Load fail safe defaults, enter. Then Save and Exit set-up. If your BIOS looks like this: http://www.latenightpc.com/pictures/d/50...http://www.latenightpc.com/pictures/d/5028-2/phoenix-bios-main- Try pressing F5 while on the bios homepage. Press F10 to save and exit. Have you also tried safe mode? On startup of the computer press F8 multiple times in a tapping motion. You'll get some options, and one of these will be Safe mode. RE: very slow start up
Also, if it's slow only on the first part, try in the Bios modifying the boot order.
There is a good guide on doing this in your system BIOS. It should help the performance when booting your PC, so it doesn't have to keep looking for the CD drive first. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,15...http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1785 Hope that helps and don't hesitate to post back your findings. Let me know how you get on. Regards, Free PC Advice Powered by our Partners: IT Support Manchester Selectweb Internet |

RE: very slow start up
Does it appear in My computer?
It is normal for disks to cause slower startup though. My other question is Football manager 07 a DVD or CD? If your using a DVD in a CD drive it will not work. Regards, Free PC Advice Powered by our Partners: IT Support Manchester Selectweb Internet |
